vs  Thats the last round classic (1st vs 2nd) before we get down to the Finals at Coolie on Sunday the 23rd November 10.00Qld time sharp.

The top 8 is set but the positioning of the 8 will be determined by 7 games in the final round. The Tigers will be minor premiers then it goes like this.

Choppers will be 2nd if they beat the Tigers but 3rd if they lose and X Men win.

X Men will be 2nd if they win and Choppers lose or 3rd if Choppers wins.

Wild Bills Boys have one of the best scenarios beat the Lions and they are 4th, lose and they are 6th if Evolution beats Splinters Revenge.

Lions beat Wild Bills boys and they go 5th if Evolution wins, lose and Cellar Dwellers beat Show us Yah Rack and P's & Q's beat Tarns Boys and they finish 8th.

Evolution beat Splinters Revenge and Wild Bills Boys lose they finish 4th but 5th if Wild Bills Boys win.

Cellar Dwellers beat Show Us Yah Rack they finish 5th if Wild Bills Boys lose 6th if they win.

Finally P's & Q's beat Tarns Boys and Cellar Dwellers and Lions lose they jump to 6th. 7th if one wins and 8th if both win.

Clear as mud excellent it is to me as well. So next week hold a lot of ifs.

Time once again for the NSW teams to do battle at the Nationals, this year at Launceston. Will get the round 13 write up happening over the next fortnight as it has been a tad chaotic getting all the tees crossed for the nationals which start on monday you can follow the progress of the teams on www.aebf.com.au click on nationals then nationals 2008 and enjoy.

Remember no Monday night pool for the next 2 weeks resuming again on the 10th November for round 14 then the last round on 17th November followd by the Grand Final day on 23rd November 10.00am QLD start, our last event for the year is the North Coast open singles on the 14th December at Coolie. Ring Poppy for further details 0409 657 970.

Congratulations to the Tigers on being minor premiers, Watty, Gavin Hansen, Ryans Cretan and Feeken have been unstoppable up to now but have to face the mighty Cellar Dwellers in round 14 that will be a game to see at the Dolphins. The rest of the top 8 positions can change dramatically in the last 2 rounds. Back soon.

Wait guys and girls don't panic the shirt belongs to the Queensland state team. Can just picture Higgo in it. Outstanding effort by Queensland 8ball to promote breast cancer on 27th October buy a pink ribbon and join in with Qld.

Down to business don't forget that after round 13 next Monday we have 2 mondays off and recommence with round 14 on the 10th November then round 15 on the 17th and the Grand final on the 23rd Nov.

Might be back to Flair Crew next season after being mauled by the Wattys (pictured)Tigers although they butchered some games and the scoreline wasn't a true indication of the night. Still Tigers on top still and having to finish off with 3 of the top 4 teams. The Malone twins (Mel pictured) couln't stem the tide and Evolution slip to 7th only 2 points in front 9th spot. Last 3 rounds are looking velly velly interesting. Tigers 14 Evolution 2.

My boys were on the other table at Twin towns and were 4 all when the other game finished but after that we reeled off 8 straight to get the cash and sit in 5th spot with a healthy %. Willy and Kingsley with trebles played good pool while Skipper Rob Johnson was TT Rebels best with a double they have slipped to 14th with work to do. Cellar Dwellers 12 TT Rebels 4.

Wild Bills Boys vs Choppers (pictured) lads a real top of the table clash at Dolphins. It chopped (sorry) and changed all night 1-3, 3all, 5all then at 5-7 it looked like the Wild men were about to be scalped but no Mr Bean, Northy and Dennis Watt turned it around and salvaged a draw probably a good result. All Choppers lads got doubles and Mr Bean was the star for Wild Bills Boys with a treble. Chopper still 2nd with Wild Bills Boys 4th but with a game in hand to be played on the 27th Oct at Dolphins. Wild Bills Boys 8 Choppers 8.

Judes (pictured in red) Show Us Ya Rack kept their dream alive against a Jekkyl and Hyde Bruns Boys who won rounds 1 and 3 by 3-1 but blew rounds 2 and 4 by 0-4 and 1-3. Peter Paymter was solid with a treble as was Greenie with a treble also. Bruns Boys have slipped to 10th but Judes team is only a win off 8th spot. Hmm interesting times ahead. Show Us Ya Rack 9 Bruns Boys 7.

P's And Q's (8th) are determined to make sure the top 8 goes down to the wire as they proved against the Lions at Coolie. 2all, 4all, then 7-5 with Dene H and Newcastle on 3 from 3 it looked like the 2 points were theirs but the Lions went 4 zip in the last round and snatched the points and 6th spot thankds to trebles to Trent Rogers (with a master shot that doesn't count in the masters stats) and Steve Geraghty back on classic form again. Lions 9 P's And Q's 7.

X MEN 16 Splinters Revenge Nil. Not much to add there. X Men 3rd Splinters Revenge 11th.

The Sharkies led by Barry King (pictured) were counting their winnings at 6-4 up against the winless Live Wires but never count your prawns before you net them and bang crash wallop and Jessica and Kristy Wise put girl power into gear and they blitzed with trebles to land their first big fish of the season and only Jason McCann with a treble could hold them out. They probably meet early again on grand final day. Live Wires 9 Sharks 7.

It was 4all and tight between a 3 man Tarns Boys (James and Brownie pictured) and the rampant Far Cue but the last half with 4f rom 4 to Gary Mullane and trebles to young Jake Mullane and not so young Rod Pain saw them power home with 8 straight and bounce into 12th spot while Tarns Boys are having a season to forget in 15th. Far Cue are on a roll and can win the Div 2 grand Final if they keep it going. Time will tell. Far Cue 12 Tarns Boys 4.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK: Garry Mullane 4 from 4 for Far Cue and Kristie Wise with Jessica Woods for trebles in Live Wires first win.

TEAM OF THE WEEK: No doubt goes to Live Wires (X Mens 16 nil got close) for their first win of the Spring season against the Sharks. Goes to show there are no certainties in pool.

NAME AND SHAME LIST: Zip again this is wonderful it's making me look around corners.

Favourites at this stage for the flag are the Tigers and after round 11 no one is challenging. There were 3 and a half beltings but the other 4 games produced a 9-7 and 3 draws as the top 8 continue to play off against one another.

Firstly only Kenny Porter put his hand up for the Bruns Boys against the Tigers. After a flier the Bruns Boys are destined for the division 2 finals again. Wattys boys won in a canter despite Kennys 3 from 4. Tigers 12 Bruns Boys 4.

vs What look close on paper was a game of halves, Choppers lads went out hard and led 6-2 at the half way mark, Waynos crew came back hard with 5-3 but it was never enough. Dave Wass is flying with another 4 from 4 and a master to Chopper himself. For Evolution (without Irene babysitting the sick young son) Wayno went down in the decider but had scored 3 from 3 before that assisted by Jack who has come from nowhere with yet another master, must be all the practise he gets with me at the Tuesday night Dolphins comp. Everyone is welcome, the more players there are the more prizemoney there is, but be warned it is a tough comp to win, Watty, Silver, Brent (on occasions), Poppy, Jack, Dene Heremaia, Dennis Watt, Wayne Worley, and Kerry are always there. So come at your peril $5 entry. Choppers stay 2nd with a tough run home Evolution 6th on %. Choppers 9 Evolution 7.

vs In a local derby at the Dolphins it was chalk and cheese. One visit outs or majors cock ups with 2 shots in hand. Dennis Watt, Poppy, Northy, Damo, we were all guilty of butchering games after going out easily the game before. To Mr Bean (Craig Johnson) we would all like to offer our sincere condolances on the passing of his Grandmother in the weekend. Beannie played great pool for Wild Bills Boys to grab 3 from 4 as did Damo and Poppy for the Cellar Dwellers. It came down to the last frame between Poppy and young Ben Jones and after a half dozen mad goes at the black each I got lucky and we scrapped in for a draw to keep us 5th. Wild Bills Boys sit 3rd with a game in hand to be played on the 27th October at Dolphins against Splinters Revenge. Tough run home for both sides. Cellar Dwellers 8 wild Bills Boys 8.

vs Show Us Your Rack blew a great chance to be in a position to grab 8th spot and as a result have it all to do in the last 4 weeks. It was close all night 2all, 4all, then at 7-5 and 8-6 it looked good for Judes team after Greenie had shot 3 from 4 and Jude a double P's & Q's Vikki and Min held there nerve against Luke Kleem(2) and Annie to snatch an important draw. They sit 8th but only 1 win out of the top 4. All the P's & Q's Dene, Newc and the girls Vikki and Min shot doubles. Show Us Ya Rack 8 P's & Q's 8.

In what loomed as a close one between 2 top 8 teams it was all one sided as X Men (4th) led by the big Kiwi Al Johnson (pictured hiding away at the back) came good with 4 from 4 after playing the first 10 rounds like a fairy, his words or close enough. Backed by Dingo, Silver and Terry Jones the Lions (7th) just had no roar in them and surrended meekly. X Men 13 Lions 3.

Splinters Revenge started a new chapter after last weeks debacle and with Michael Boehm, Elliott with 4 from 4 and Ed Lewis a treble they smashed Live Wires who continue to battle away with Jessica Pete and Kristie all trying hard. Both teams will be playing in the division 2 finals with Splinters Revenge being hard to hold out. Splinters Revenge 12 Live wires 4.

It was an ominous looking Far Cue side that racked up an early lead at 7-2 then 8-4 with Scotty and Gary Mullane on fire with trebles but hold the phone as Josh King got there for the last round and bang bash wallop 4 zip in the last round saw the Sharkies fly (or swim) home to snatch an unlikely draw. Far Cue 8 Sharks 8.

Feeling for Tarns Boys as they finally reached their potential closing out a 6-2 early lead into a solid 10-6 win against a full strength TT Rebels. Peter Passett was outstanding with his 4 from 4 backed up by James Lane with a treble for Tarns Boys. New recruit for the Rebels Rod Clark  was solid with another double while skipper Johnson did hid bit with a treble. Both teams have the talent to make a mark in the division 2 finals in November. Tarns Boys 10 TT Rebels 6.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK: Terrific efforts from Al Johnson (X Men), Peter Passett (Tarns Boys), Dave Wass (Choppers) and Elliott and Michael Boehm (Splinters Revenge) who all shot 4 from 4.

TEAM OF THE WEEK: Got to go to Tarns Boys in racking up their first win of the season, well done boys. Where is Tarn?

NAME AND SHAME LIST: Zip, zilch, no-one. All little arrears paid up, well done captains.

On a good note over the Tewantin weekend which was a great success with 38 teams taking part, Peter Watt had a good weekend, winning the 9 ball annd 8ball tournament before getting rolled in the semi finals with his partner Rocky. They would have loved to have had a clean sweep but we musn't be too greedy. Well done Watty and Rocky.

Were Choppers as the Bruns Boys slipped further into the mire. Chopper and Dave Wass had flawless nights Dave with another master and the sit nicely in 2nd spot but it is pretty congested behind them. Nestor was best for the Bruns Boys with a double, Dribble filled in for Kenny but had a night to forget. Choppers 12 Bruns Boys 4.

Sitting clearly on top of the heap are still thew Tigers and it didn?t change last night against a full strength P's & Q's maybe a bit tired after the Tewantin weekend. Dene H had his first zero from 4 that I can recall and only Newcastle worried the scorers for them with a double. Obviously the Tigers stats were pretty much 100%. Tigers 12 P's & Q's 4.

My lads led by my good self were back to playing like monkeys. I was taken apart by the Malone twins then belted by their skipper in the last frame. A forgetable night and I was looking for the noose and chair when I got home but could only find a shoe lace and a bean bag and that doesn't work so am looking forward to next week with some trepidation. The King was our best by a mile with a treble, while for Evolution Grant Ford and Wayno were best with 2 from 3. A draw was probably a just result. Evolution 8 Cellar Dwellers 8.

Before the night started the winner between Show Us Ya Rack and X Men were in the top 8 the loser out. Greenie 9pictured) played a lone hand with a treble but the rest could not take up the slack. They fell apart without Stinger. Terry Jones was back with 4 from 4 after a bitch of a night the week before. X Men will be hard to move from the 8 now and Judes lot have it all to do with only 5 rounds left. X Men 12 Show Us Ya Rack 4.

It was Wild Bills Boys without wild bill as Billy Crompton generously filled in with the opossition TT Rebels who were 2 short. Well done Bill, with only 3 players TT Rebels were never going to be a threat to the rampant WBB's but fill in Rod Clarke did his bit with a good double. Mr Bean was best for the grinners with another 4 from 4. They have a Dolphins derby with us next week so that will have a bit of biff in it. WBB'S 12 TT Rebels 4.

The Sharkies led by Cat Medallada were back in the winners circle taking out Tarns Boys with newcomer Dean debuting. Cat continued her great form with her first 4 from 4 in a tight one. 2all, 4all, 7-5, 9-7. Kerry Watt was back in form for Tarns Boys with a treble good to see. Sharks 9 Tarns Boys 7.

Thought the Lions would have a % booster against the Live Wires but young Jessica woods with 3 from 4 stopped that though the Lions with Trent, Mark Morrison, and Steve Geraghty with trebles where too strong and are well in the top 8. Lions 11 Live Wires 5

Last but not least Far Cue have found form and all teams should be thankful that there is only 5 weeks to go as they demolished a consistent Splinters Revenge with Rod Pain, Scott Peterson, Gary Mullane all getting trebles. Doubles to Michael and Mark Knott were not enough to hold off a rampant Far Cue. Far Cue 11 Splinters Revenge 5.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK: Getting a bit boring this Cat 4 from 4 outstanding, Jessica, Rod Pain, Scotty, Garry all with trebles in great touch.

TEAM OF THE WEEK: Far Cue without a doubt scintilating stuff but can they keep it going. Remember Scotty was 100% after one round???.

NAME AND SHAME LIST: TT Rebels stand in captain skipped early so will catch him next week. Caught him all good.

TIP OF THE WEEK: Think of something else when your opponent is at the table. Don't dwell on your last stuff up.

Choppers keep winning (close but still winning) and keep grinning. Last night they took on 4th placed P's & Q's albeit with no Newcastle. At 6 all it was a toss of the coin job but only Rosscoe could get the money for P's & Q's and they slipped down the ladder while Choppers sit 2nd. Dave Wass was the best on the night with 4 from 4 and a master in the final frame to get the 2 points. Choppers 9 P's & Q's 7.

Northy(pictured) and Wild Bills Boys were up to their old tricks against league heavyweights Evolution. Up 4-2 they lost 4 straight as Jack came back with a vengeance with a great double but after getting to a 7-5 lead Evolution rested Mel for some unknown reason and paid the penalty losing all 4 of the last stanza. Dennis Watt made the difference for the winners pinch hitting 2 from 2. While Wayne Worley (with yet another master, watch out Watty) and twins Mel and Jack got 7 from 10 but it wasn't enough. Wild Bills Boys by a freckle. Wild Bills Boys 9 Evolution 7.

Twin Towns Rebels started the afternoon with 1 player but with some sucking up and a loan from their opponents the Sharks they got a team onto the field and then did the job on the Sharks. Loaner Cat is flying and got another double with Peter Rausfuss and another loaner Ash 3 a piece. Ash might have to stay with them as they need another permenant player. Phil Levi with 3 was the only bright spark for the Sharks. I feel guilty for helping out in their defeat. (not really) TT Rebels 9 Sharks 7.

The Tigers continued their rise but not before being down 3 zip early but after that the wheels fell off the X Men and they lost 12 of the next 13 to be demolished. Next week the X Men come up against Judes Show Us Ya Rack and the winner of that game is in the top 8 the loser out. Watty 4. Tigers 13 X Men 4.

My lads all won 3 from 4 to run out handy winners against the Bruns Boys but having said that the Bruns Boys butchered at least 4 blacks so we got away with one I think. Skipper Peter Paynter scored a double but it could so easily have been 4. Still a win is a win and we will take it. Cellar Dwellers 12 Bruns Boys 4.

A 3 person team of Live Wires were never going to cut the mustard againt a rampant Show Us Ya Rack. Jude is flying back from her trip with Higgo (better find out the recipe) and was 4 from 4 again. Father Woods did his upmost with a double for the Live Wires. Top 8 for Judes team next week? We will see. Show Us Ya Rack 13 Live Wires 3.

Tarn was absent as her team Tarns Boys did their upmost to get their first win but Splinters Revenge were equally trying to get the points to keep their season alive. With a handy sub in Geoff Atkinson at 3 from 3 it looked good but Ed Lewis took him out and they had to be content with a hard fought draw. Tarn's Boys 8 Splinters Revenge 8.

Farcue keep getting into winning positions but can't quite get over the line or in this case the Lions. It was tight at 6all and when Gary Mullane took out Mark Morrison the last frame was for a draw but super sub Mark Gottleib got the Lions home and firmly in the top 8. Mark Gottleib and Steve Geraghty got trebles for the winners while Gary Mullane slotted a treble for Farcue. Lions 9 Farcue 7.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jude for getting 4 from 4 for the 2nd straight week and Cat for bouncing back again into the winners list.

TEAM OF THE WEEK: TT Rebels with only 1 regular player and 3 subs for getting the chocolates against the sharkies.

NAME AND SHAME LIST: All paid up.

TIP OF THE WEEK: Cue sports are 90% a mind game.

Round 8 is done and dusted with no real shocks but a couple of close calls. It was a pity the teams that had to play at the Coolie Hotel downstairs were subjected to the disgraceful tables and the positioning of the tables that leaves a lot to be desired. You can rest assured the North Coast will be looking for alternative venues if we are forced to play in those conditions again. Already 2 teams will be playing in different venues next season and after last night I am sure more will be looking to follow. We support venues and we should expect the venues to support us after all we put a lot of money through them throughout the year and don?t get one dollar in sponsorship in return.

The Tigers kept roaring at the top of the ladder as they belted the Live Wires. The only shock of the night was Watty losing 2 of the 3 frames Live wires won. Young Jessica kept her form going winning 2 frames. Tigers 13 Live Wires 3.

The Sharks with Josh back from work duties couldn?t hold out Splinters Revenge who after a couple of good draws finally got the full 2 points. the first, third and fourth quarters were all 2 all but the damage was done in the 2nd set with a 4 zip to Michaels boys. Michael led the way with 4 from 4 and was supported by Elliott, Mark and Ed all with 2 each a strong team effort. Barry, Josh and Jason shot 2 but Cat couldn?t keep her winning run going, Splinters Revenge 10 sharks 6.

Wild Bills Boys were in a semi local derby with the Bruns Boys but it was no contest as Mr Bean and Northy with 8 from 8 were to strong and its back to the drawing board for the boys from Brunswick while Wild Bills Boys are heading for pennant favourites the way they are going. Wild Bills Boys 14 Brund Boys 2.

Last week we played like monkeys and ended up with peanuts this week at 1-5 down against 4th placed P's and Q's it looked like peanuts again but led by old timer Willie Rawiri with 3 we clawed our way back despite Dene Heremaia's 4 from 4 to end up with at least cashew nuts for our draw. Rosscoe threw in with Dene with 3 but they will be disappointed to hand us a point after such a good start. Won't mention Vikki's nearly great out in the last frame but nearly is the word and we scrapped a point. P's & Q's 8 Cellar Dwellers 8.

X Men dodged a bullet in a danger game against Choppers. 4 all at the main break the X factor kicked in and they won 5 straight to put the game to bed. Prez Dingo and Dean Whitchurch were their stars (Dean 3 from 3) with 3 each. For Choppers it was a lone hand from Chopper himself with 3 but not enough in a tight one. Both stay in the top 8 and in major contention for further honours. X Men 9 Choppers 7.

Show Us Ya Rack, what can I say Jude's back and the holiday must have done her the world of good as she played out of her skin with 4 ably backed up by Stinger with 3 and that was enough to put away Far Cue. Good to see Jeremy back in form with a double as did Rod Pain for the losers, father and son Mullane had to be content with 1 apiece. Good win to the rack. Show Us Your rack 10 Far cue 6.

Wayne Worley (pictured) jumped into the masters list for the year, and with Jack back Evolution demolished TT Rebels who have been in good form lately. Grant Ford and Irene Watt with 8 from 8, words fail me. Jack was there for support and it worked a treat. Rob was the Rebels best with a double but too easy for Evolution. Evolution 12 TT Rebels 4.

The Captain (pictured) kept Tarns Boys way past their bedtime and wore them down after being 1-5 down early. The Lions came away with the points thanks to a sparkling 4 from 4 from Mark Morrison. James and Peter Passett were best for Tarns Boys with doubles. Lions 10 Tarns Boys 6.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK: 4 from a 4 aplenty, Irene Watt, Jude, Grant Ford, Mark Morrison again Watty for losing 2 and Wayne Worley for a sensational (his words) master. Northy and Mr bean deserve honorary mentions as well.

TEAM OF THE WEEK: Splinters Revenge for getting into the winners list after some close calls.

NAME AND SHAME LIST: Zip again, good stuff.

Tip of the week: Keep your eye on the ball

Round 7 is off and gone and the top 8 teams will be playing each other and knocking each other out. So the ladder will be changing big time.

Tigers stayed clear on the top of the ladder when they rolled Far Cue who got closer than they would have liked. Scotty Peterson kept the hot form going with a double as did Gary Mullane for Farcue while Watty struggled through to 4 from 4. The draw is easier for Far Cue from now on in so it all looks good for the Dolphins team. Tigers 10 Far Cue 6.

The Cellar Dwellers played like monkeys against X Men and came away with peanuts. Willie was upended in the first game in more ways than one. Then it was all down hill not helped by my good self playing woeful. Damo did hid best to kepp us in it but the XMen led by NSW and QLD Prez Greg Dingle with 4 from 4 answered every challenge and ran out deserved winners after a 3-1 3rd term. XMen 9 Cellar Dwellers 7.

I thought the Sharks were reborn after last weeks win but 2 of their stars were were struck down with flu and work so they had to go to the reserve panel and when the Lions stung by last week jumped to a 7-1 lead it was all over. The Sharkies fought back with 4 all in the 2nd half but 4 from 4 for Mark Morrison and Steve Geraghty had closed the door on them. Cat kept her winning record going while skipper Barry King pinched a double. They will be back at full strength next week and back into it. Lions 11 Sharks 5.

Live Wires had a tough task against 2nd placed Choppers and although Jessica managed a double again it was too big a mountain to climb and led by Copper himself with 4 from 4 it was way to easy for them. Chopper 12 Live Wires 4.

Show Us Ya Rack minus the show edged out Tarns Boys after being down 3-5 at half time they bounced back to nly drop 2 frames in the last half and pinche dthe points and stay handy to the top 8. Captain couragous James Lane was Tarns Boys rock with 3 from 4 while Greenie, Stinger and annie all put in with trebles for The show it all team with Jude still off partying up north. Show Us Ya Rack 9 Tarns Boys 7.

TT Rebels turned their season around when they upset Ed"s Splinter Revenge. Splinters have a couple of Eds last names would be good so I can get the stats right. Peter Raustuss and Skipper Rob were always in control with trebles while Michael Boehm was Splinters best with a double. Both teams are capable of stringing a couple of wins together we will see. TT Rebels 10 Splinters Revenge 6.

Thats what Evolution are changing their name to. Last night they fronted Bruns Boys without Jack Malone it was like a dry martini without the olive but they over came that major hurdle and in a team effort Wayne 3, Grant 3, Irene 2, Mel 2, thyey pinche it in the 1st and last terms 3-1 to get the cash. Peter Paynter, Nestor YONGCO, and in form Kenny Porter were consistent with doubles but needed a 4 from 4 off some one. Evolutiom 10 Bruns Boys 6.

The P's & Q's roadtrain led by the Hermaia's (pictured) kept rolling on as they swept past previously unbeaten Wild Bills boys in a tight one. The 1st, 2nd, and last terms were all 2 all but the pinched it in the 3rd 3-1 to claim the bragging rights.Dene and Rossco McGory got trebles to set it all up while for The wild things Mr Beans treble was a lone hand and theybtasted defeat for the first but maybe not the last time. P's & Q's 9 Wild Bills Boys 7.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK: Prez Greg Dingle , Mark Morrison, Steve Geraghty all for getting 4 from 4 and Cat for keeping her winning record going.

TEAM OF THE WEEK:TT Rebels Rebels for breaking their duck and getting on the board.

 NAME AND SHAME LIST: Zip
