We have a 2 week break for the nationals and return on the 2nd November and what a last 3 weeks we have coming up the only certainty is that Underbelly will be the well earned minor premiers.

The finals format and venues are finalised, the Mcintyre system will be in place. One the first Sunday of the finals all 8 teams play off and 4 teams are elimimated. Week 2 are straight semi finals then Grand Final.

Division 1 will be held at Twin Towns and Division 2 at Calypso.

Judy and TK will be unavailable for round 14 and Jason Kyranis is subbing for Jude and Damo for Kingsley.

Greenies Underbelly wrapped up the minor premiership with a huge come from behind effort against last seasons premiers X Men. Underbelly bounced out and led 4-1 but then lost 6 straight to be down 5-7 but they held their nerve and won the last 5 although most of the last 5 frames were nip and tuck efforts. Greenie wrapped it up with a nice out against Geoffrey after he missed an easy out that would have made it a draw. Trent and Greenie got trebles for the winners. Geoof, Terry and Al all got doubles for X Men. Underbelly are strong favourites for the Premiership.

Underbelly 9 X Men 7.
Cellar Dwellers took on a 5 man Assassins. You would have thought Poppy was playing for the Assassins as he lost all 3 games that they won. Mel. Ash and Edward all played very well to win those frames it must be said. Takashi. Damo and TK (tile king, I prefer TS for toatally stripped myself) won all their frames on the night for a good wi.

Cellar Dwellers 13 Assassins 3.

A bit of panic is setting in with Lindrum as they subbed Qld rep Brad Jenke for Ash who was a spectator on the night. Skywalkers were competitive in all frames but only Annie and Luke with doubles could put it on the scoreboard.  Brad was best with 4 from 4 frames for Lindrum. Lindrum have Cellar Dweelers and X Men to come so matybe they are entitled to panic a bit. Mr Bean only played 2 frames for Underbelly maybe they could transfer him for a fee off Greenie.

Lindrum 14 Skywalkers 4.

Wayne Worley led from the front with 4 from 4 for Evolution in a game against Norfolk N Way which promised to go down to the wire, not to be Evolution bounced out to 7-1 then 11-2 and only Mark, Dean and Ed winning the last 3 frames saved a massacre. Mark Morrison was best for Nofolk N Way with a double. Easy for Evolution.

Evolution 11 Norfolk N Way 5.

Gr8te Balls Of Fire had to dig deep to get over Rhythm & Cues with Dene Heremaia back from holidays. It was 2all 4all 6all but Rob got the better of Vikki and pinched the win. Grant, Dene and Jeff got doubles for Rhythym & Cues while for Gr8te Balls of Fire Paulie Bacon was far and away their best with 4 from 4.

Gr8te Balls Of Fire 9 Rhythm & Cues 7

The happy hooker is on fire with another 4 from 4 as Dangerous D's & A P dismantled Super eights and dumped them out of the top 8. Only a point out of the top 8 Super Eights are still in with a big hope. Darrens lads are pretty sure to finish top 4. It was pretty much one way traffic on Monday and too easy for the Dangerous mob without Dave Wass.

Dangerous D's & A P 13 Super Eights 3

Fisho's mob were in with a chance to go top 8 but Far Cue were having none of it. 6-0 and it was nearly all over. Stacey and Fisho grabbed 4 of the next 4 and it was game on again but 3 straight to Far Cue snuffed that out. Rod Pain and Noel Wynne (again) were best for Far Cue with trables. Fisho best for Gone Fishing with a treble.

Far Cue 10 Gone Fishing 6

Bruns Boys are charging home late in the season and put paid to an understrength Sniveling Dogs led by Paul Terlecky and 3 young ladies. Paul stood up with a good treble but all the girls got a frame and Wendy a double to push Bruns Boys right to the end. Rod Clark was in sparkling form with 4 from good effort.

Bruns Boys 10 Sniveling Dogs 6.

TEAM OF THE WEEK: Underbelly for another come from behind win and stitching up the minor premiership. Good effort.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Rod Clark from Bruns Boys for 4 from 4 and The Happy Hooker for stretching it to 8 from 8.

NAME AND SHAME LIST: Still going well with no one to shame, bugger.

Reminder to teams that after round 12 on Monday 12th October there will be a 2 week break coinciding with the nationals recomencing on November 2nd at 6.30 Qld time.

Round 11 of the season saw the best of the best, movement everywhere. Underbelly remain undefeated but only by the grace of god, falling in over 9th placed Lindrum. The top 8 changed for the first time and may well continue to change as Gone Fishing and Super Eights charge home and Lindrum falters.

Skywalkers were down to 3 players and that told the story against Cellar Dwellers who ran out easy winners. Annie won thw 2 frames for Skywalkers. Poppy and Takashi lost them,
Cellar Dwellers 14 Skywalkers 2.

X Men hang in there for minor premier honours, not sure if Kiwi Al J played or not but if he did it was forgettable while Rocket Rod Bechaz was outstanding with 4. Norfolk N Way held their own to halfway at 4 from 4 but fell away in the last half with only Dean and Pedro taking frames. With 4 rounds to go both teams have their futures in there own cues,
X MEN 10 Norfolk N Way 6.

Greenies boys are winning ugly but the bottom line is they are still winning and that was the case against Northys Lindrum who have slipped out of the top 8 for the first time. Greenie and his cohorts were chirping when they stormed to 8-3 when Trent took out an unlucky Ash Broad. 3 games later it was reduced to silence as Bean was looking at his shoes more than the table and it was only by the grace of god that on his 15th set of 2 shots he knocked in an unconvincing black to seal the win. Greenie, Trent and Mr Bean all got trebles while Credo went winless for the 2nd week in a row. Dennis Watt took the honours with a treble for Lindrum and need to kick on over the next 4 weeks big time. Underbelly are looking the goods for minor premiers.
Underbelly 9 Lindrum 7.

Evolution skipper Wayne Worley would be filthy at dropping 2 points against Vikkis Rhythm & Cues but that they did. Evolution were down 3-5 at the half but at 6-5 and on a roll all looked good but Sterlo took out Kerry and the rot set in only Irene could grab a frame in the last quarter. Super sub Sterling Cross in for Dene Heremaia took honours with 4 from 4 assisted by Grant Ford  back for a cameo with a treble. Jack Malone came off a successful stint at the Banora snooker classic over the weekend to keep Evoloution in it for most odf the night with a treble. Huge last 4 rounds for Evolution comimg up.
Rhythm & Cues 9 Evolution 7.

Pete's Super Eight boys have come from the clouds to edge into the top 8 and are now under pressure to stay there, Far Cue have Noel Wynne carrying them at the moment and he needs some help before his back caves in. This was nip and tuck all night and it came down to Brownie and James needing to win to grab a point and a draw and a spot in the 8. Under pressure they both fired up and good luck to them Brownies treble was their best. Noels treble got them into the points for Far Cue.
Super Eights 8 Far Cue 8.

VS Dangerous D's & A P was a game to break up the top 8 for both teams and it disappoint. Paulies team looked up for it early and raced away to a 5-2 lead and holding Dean McDonald to 0 from 2 for the first time this season. Once again Dangerous D's proved just that and Dave Wass and  the latest 8ball superstar Peter Hooker (you ask him he will confirm it) turned it around with 4 straight wins but wait their is more Paulie Rob and Judy said enough is enough and grabbed 3 in a row to be sitting pretty at 8-6 but the final twist saw Donny pinch his first for the night and hooker clean up for a great draw.
Rob Pleming was best for the Gr8tes with a treble. Interesting times ahead for both teams.
Dangerous D's @ A P 8 Gr8te Balls Of Fire 8.

Sniveling Dogs were shot back into the winners list due to skipper Andy Apostolides getting back to his best with 4 from 4 backed up with a treble from Goger Ross. Assassins saw Glen Nichols get back into form with a good treble with Skipper Edward going well with a double. Sniveling Dogs a bit strong.
Sniveling Dogs 11 Assassins 5.

Fishos mob with Stacey in full time for Geoff Watson continue on their march into the top 8. Bruns Boys were the ones in their way and couldn't repell their challenge. Skipper Rick Slater had one of his best nights with a treble but it was not enough. Yan was superb again with 4 from 4 and is flying backed up by a treble to Sticks and doubles to Stacey and Fisho a real team effort.
Gone Fishing 11 Bruns Boys 5.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Andy Apositilidies for getting Sniveling dogs back on track with a leaders 4 from 4 effort.

TEAM OF THE WEEK: Gone Fishing have stormed into top eight contention and are genuine contenders to get tere.

NAME AND SHAME LIST: 4 round to go and still nothing, come on I want to embaress someone.

Due to lack of tables in one venue the finals series format has had to change this year. Division 2 Preliminary finals day will be at Calypso Hotel on Sunday 22nd November 10.00 start. (4 teams will be eliminated) Division 1 will be at Twin Towns on Sunday 22nd November 10.00 start. (4 teams to be eliminated). The semis and Grand Final day for Divisions 1&2 will be at the Calypso Hotel on Sunday 29th November 11.00 start.

Only one team left at the top of the heap undefeated Underbelly. At least for 1 more week

We need some feed back on the possible revamp of the finals day. The current state of available tables at any one venue will mean the top 8 will play on a different day to Division 2, That ensures the Finals day is always held in Coolangatta. When a venue with 8 tables in the area becomes available in the future of course we will use it.
We need opinions on changing the finals format to the NRL or AFL formula which gives top teams the double chance. Also the playing of the peliminary finals on one weekend and the 2 Grand Finals on the following weekend on the same day. We need your feedback on these options or the third option of leaving it as it is. Let Poppy, Nortyh, Irene, Steve Geraghty, and Watty know your views.

Its getting tough at the top nd X Men felt the heat and went into melt down in the last quarter against last years minor premiers Dangerous D's with the P back. Both Captains Terry and Dean were the best on field for their teams with trables. X Men would have felt at least a draw was their worst result after taking out Dean McDonald to lead 7-6 but the D's (and the P) wouldn't lay down and took out the last 3 frames and grabbed the win and push X Men back to 3rd on the ladder.
Dangerous D's & A P 9 X Men 7.

Dene heremaia made a brief comeback for Rhythm & Cues and he and little sister Min took out the Broad's in the last quarter to give Jeff Peters a chance to grab an upset draw against Lindrum, alas foe Que it wasn't to be and Dennis Watt took the win and the 2 valuable points to keep Lindrum entrenched in the 8. Northy was outstanding with all 4 and Dene's treble kept the losers in it but was not quite enough.
Lindrum 9 Rhythm & Cues 7.

At 6-3 Norfolk N Way were beating their chests against Cellar Dwellers but Kingsley won his one frame for the night and got us back into it. at 6-7 we were looking down the barrel again with Pedro on a treble against steve Geraghty on one win. Steve got out of jail with a magic draw snooker with the black over the pocket and he cleared up to keep us in it. I got lucky against Dean W and we shared the points, both teams will think they should have won but a draw was a fair result. Pedro and Poppy got trebles.
Norfolk N Way 8 Cellar Dwellers 8.

Once again Annie held her hand up against the undefeated Underbelly and took out Trent, Credo and Bobby Kahlu to carry on her great form leading into the Nationals in Canberra. All the Underbelly boys scored trebles and are cock of hoop on top but next week we will see how good they really are as they take on my lads.
Underbelly 12 Skywalkers 4.

The scoreline between Evolution and Far Cue looked tight but it was a case of Evolution sleeping through the last quarter and Far Cue steaming home to add some credibilty to the score. Kerry and wayno were on track for unbeaten nights but snoozed in the last quarter to get trebles. Rod, Scotty and Garry got doubles but needed to turn a couple of those into trebles to get the cash.
Evolution 9 Far Cue 7.

Paulies Gr8te Balls Of Fire were long ods on favourites to roll Bruns Boys and at 6-3 all was on track but hold the phone the 2 Peters and Rod got into it and in the blink of an eye it was 6all and a few nervous twitches were happening but the boys and Jude put there heads down to get the money and grab 2nd spot on the ladder. Peter Peter and Rod were good with doubles with Rob Pleming best on ground with 4 from 4.
Gr8te Balls Of Fire 10 Bruns Boys 6.

Super Eights skipper Peter Passet was the difference between winning and losing against Sniveling Dogs. They were 8-2 up and it took Pete's win over Robyn to get the win 9-7. Roger Ross got a treble and Robyn got on board with a huge win over  Kylie.
Super Eights 9 Sniveling Dogs 7.

Gone Fishing keep winning and are going well while Mel Cassar bounced back with a double for the assassins. In laws Nick anf fisho were sensational with 8 from 8.
Gone fishing 12 Assassins 4.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Inlaws Fisho and Nick Torpy for puting together 8 from 8 between them for Gone Fishing.

TEAM OF THE WEEK: Lindrum for holding up games to allow Dene and Vikki make it late and compete. Good to see.

 NAME AND SHAME: Nil

Past the half way mark and still 2 unbeaten sides Greenies Underbelly and Terrys X Men.

Takashi was baclk to take over from Damo so we lost nothing there and with 4 players we were a bit solid for Vikkis Rhythm & Cues. Takashi was outstanding with a smaller tip and never looked like missing. Que finished the night off with an outstanding out to roll Poppy.
Cellar Dwellers 13 Rhythm & Cues 3.

Unbeaten X Men took control in the 1st and 3rd quarters (7-1) and that sealed the game. Scotty finished a mighty flourish and with Garry Mullane collected doubles on the night but it was not enough. No 4 from 4's for the X Men but solid trebles to Al, Terry and Rodney Bechaz was good enough.
X Men 10 Far Cue 6.

Dangerous D's  v Lindrum was a toss off the coin job but before the coin had hit the floor it was all but over with the D's 5-1 up and cruising. Then Ash and Northy hit form and grabbed a couple back Dean and Wassy took the ascendency straight back and 7-3 looked grim for Lindrum but to their credit they chipped away with Carl Broad adding a double to his early win and it was down to the wire at 7-8 and Dennis Watt and Darren Brand playng for the win or draw. Darren pulled out a great finish and the Dangerous D's got the cash.
Dangerous D's 9 Lindrum 7.

Lukes Skywalkers took on Norfolk "N Way and to be fair on form it looked like a cruise to Dean and his boys but Annie brought out her A game and they were right in it at 6-5 but they couldn't grab the extra frame to give Annie the chance in the last game against Ed Lewis. Annie finished with 4 from 4 and a great return to form but they just fell short. Ed Lewis best for the winners with a treble.
Norfolk 'N Way 9 Skywalkers 7.

Greenie boys were relentless in their charge to premiership honours and the Assassins were the ones to feel the heat but cracks may be appearing as Credo chocked under pressure and Edward put him away to save a clean sweep loss.
Underbelly 15 Assassins 1.

Wayne Worley (camera say and not in photo) led Evolution to a strong win v Bruns Boys. All the Evolution team chipped in with trebles while Rod Clarke kept up his seasons solid form with a double.
Evolution 12 Bruns Boys 4

Gone Fishing are to lose Geoff Watson for the rest of the season and need a replacemnet for the last 7 games. Anyone interested give Poppy a call 0409 657 970. Ironically Geoof had 3 from 3 v Super Eights and had the decider for the full points against Brownie but no fairy tale here as Brownie held his nerve and got Super Eights over the line for a draw. Nick and Fisho grabbed doubles for Gone Fishin. Brownie and Peter Passet were great with trebles along with James a double.
Super Eights 8 Gone Fishing 8

Easy for Gr8te Balls of Fire as Snivelling Dogs succumbed to a team virus fordeited.
Gr8te Balls of Fire 16 Snivelling Dogs 0

 PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Annie McLauchlan from Skywalkers for storming back to her brillianr best with 4 from 4.

TEAMS OF THE WEEK: Super Eights and Gone Fishing for fighting it out to the wire for a hard fought draw.

NAME AND SHAME LIST: Nil but a couple of Regos need to be paid. The perpertrators have been informed.

Down to 2 undefeated teams after round 7.  Underbelly and X Men.

NSW open doubles on this sunday at Snooker World 10.00am start enquirees Poppy 0409 657 970.

Terry and his boys had a cruisy win over Ricks Bruns Boys and remain on top of the heap. Only a lazy last quarter stopped a clean sweep. Geoffrey the only one to hold his concentration in their win with 4 from 4. With music upstairs at Calypso it must be an improvement as it was pretty quiet and tragic up to now.
X MEN 13 BRUNS BOYS 3.

Northy led his team with a four from four effort and ably backed up by Dennis Watt with the same stats they were to powerful for Far cue who were withoiut their mecurial and inspirational leader Scotty and they were rudderless without him. Rod Pain held his hand up continuing his solid form with a double.
LINDRUM 12 FAR CUE 4.

In a dissapointing turn of events Takashi pulled out of Cellar Dwellers at 6.20pm and left them no chance of feilding a replacement except for Watty and that was not an option in fairness to the importance of the game against Dangerous D's (the P has gone). Kingsley tried hard to make it from the Brissie airport but storms put an eand to that. Having said that I was disappointed to at least not come out with a draw a couple of very ordinary efforts from my good self and an easy missed black by Damo cost us. Steve Geraghty was great with a treble while Dean McDonald was by far Dangerous D's best with 4 from 4. Costly loss for Cellar Dwellers but good for Dangerous D's a very good team. At least the loss of Takashi cost their boys plenty in fines for being late for their games.
DANGEROUS D's 11 CELLAR DWELLERS 5.

Que and her team found their rhythm then lost it then found it. Lukes Skywalkers were the ultimate in consistency with Luke, Annie, Michael and Richard all shooting doubles as thay battled it out tooth and nailwith Rhythm and Cues. Jeff Peters shot a good treble and Que had her chance to finish it off but with 2 shots rolled the black towards the pocket and god damn it the little devil needed 2 more rotations to reach the pocket but not to be. A point each for  a draw.
RHYTHYM AND CUES 8 SKYWALKERS 8.

Two of the undefeated teams in Underbelly and Norfolk 'N Way butted heads and it looked to be the match of the round but Greenies mob steamrolled them. 4-2 down after 6 wasn't all that bad but 9-2 after 11 wasn't all that good and it was downhill after that if that is possible and 3 undefeated teams became 2. Greenie led the way with 4 from 4 for the winners, Pedro was the only bright light for Norfolk 'N Way with a double. They will bounce back next week for sure.
UNDERBELLY 13 NORFOLK "N WAY 3.

Mighty Mel Malone (pictured) made a cameo come back to help out partner and captain Wayne Worley who came to grief at work but fortunately the last report has Wayne better than first thought so that is a bonus. So the Malone twins were back for Evolution enough to send the shivers down opposition spines. Mel was a bit rusty and Jack held himself back so not to show Mel up. Kerry Watt and sister in law Irene held them together with 7 from 8. Snivelling Dogs were held together with a doubles to Roger Ross and Paul Terlecky who are putting in week in week out. Andy had a rare downer.
EVOLUTION 11 SNIVELLING DOGS 5.

Fisho's mob continued to give away big starts and charge home and tonight against Gr8ate Balls of Fire was no different. 10-3 down they stormed home to get the last 3 frames and make the score more respectable. The soon to be departing Geoff Watson was outstanding with a treble and good luck to him in his shift to Townsville shortly. My doubles partner on Sunday Rob Pleming and skipper Paulie Bacon were best for the winners with trebles.
GR8TE BALLS OF FIRE 10 GONE FISHING 6.

Super Eights really bounced back with a vengance with a resounding victory over a hapless Assassins. Peter Passet and James Lane were great with 4 from 4 but Brownie and dina were snapping at there heals with trebles. Mel and Ed got the Assassins on the board with wins.
SUPER EIGHTS 14 ASSASSINS 2.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK: Peter Passet and James Lane with 4 from 4 for Super Eights.

TEAM OF THE WEEK: Super Eights for their grat win 14-2 and getting their season back on track.

NAME AND SHAME LIST: Nil again whoopee

The top 3 undefeated teams continued on their winning ways but have a couple of teams snapping at their heels.

Lindrum took on Bruns Boys who were flushed with a big win last week. Lindrum may well have taken the night a bit easy but were soon in a dog fight as the Bruns Boys wouldn't lay down. 4 all at half time looked ominous. Northy was looking comfortable at 8-7 as Dennis Watt took on Rod Clarke and it was a tough frame but Rod pulled of a great positional shot on the last red and snatched a great draw.
Bruns Boys 8 Lindrum 8.

Snivelling Dogs have had a horror draw to start the season and tonight was no different, Andy continued on with his great form with a double but the X Men had all the answers and continued on their merry way.

X MEN 13 Snivelling Dogs 3.

Scotty was back for Far Cue and Rod Pain was out (daughters birthday congratulations to her) and they were in a confident mood against the Cellar Dwellers but the mood didn't last (sounds like my ex wife) and Takashi continued on his great form with 4 from 4. Having said that the scoreline flattered us as we had to pull out some great outs to get the money. Next week we have the Dangerous D's and with Damo subbing in for the tile king Kingsley that game will show us where we are at.
Cellar Dwellers 13 Far Cue 3.

Lukes Skywalkers took it right up to Dangerous D's & AP and with Annie in superb touch with 3 in row they were in it up to their ears at 5-7 but they couldn't quite finish it off and Dean, Donnie, Darren and Dave (reminds me of a 60's band called Dave Dee mickey beaky  and titch or was it twitch anyway close to it) closed it out. The 4th D Dave Wass was the difference with all 4.
Dangerous D's 11 Skywalkers 5

Greenies Underbelly got some easy stats as Que's one short Rhythm and Cues hoisted the white flag and surrended.
Underbelly 16 Rhythm & Cues Zip

The Assassins were left dead and buried on the table by Norfolk N' Way, lead by stats leader City Country B Grade singles champion and leading Jack Daniels supporter Dean Whitchurch. Mel, Robert and Glen all pinched a frame each for the Assassins while Ed Lewis with 2 from 4 did his best to keep the Assassins in the game but he wasn't supported by his team mates. Mark Morrison Pedro and Dean were great with 11 from 12 between them.
Norfok N' Way 13 Assassins 3.

Gone Fishing vs Evolution looked one of the rounds close ones on paper but with skipper Wayne Worley back from long service leave they bounced out to a 6-2 lead and that was the penny section for Fishos mob. The in laws Fisho and Sticks fought hard with doubles but trebles to Evolutions Jack Malone and Irene Watt got them the points.
Evolution 10 Gone Fishing 6.

Gr8te Balls of Fire went head to head with Super Eights and it was a suprisingly lopsided game as Paulie, Jude, Rob, and the Captain all notched up trebles to run away with it only Dina with a double for Super Eights got into any form.
Gr8te Balls of Fire 12 Super Eights 4.

PLAYER OF THE ROUND: It wasn't 4 from 4 but Irene and Annies trebles against good opposition qualifies the 2 of them as players of the round.

TEAM OF THE WEEK: Bruns Boys get the nod again for punching on above their weight and snatching a draw against the highly rated Lindrum side.
